Remix the New Single from Color Theory "Glory Days," Win Geist2 from FXpansion and Mentor Session
This feature has ended. We'd like to thank everyone who participated -- you are what makes this community great. Join us in congratulating the winner(s)!
Brian Hazard is the mastermind behind the one-man electronic music act he calls Color Theory. Using a mix of electronic drums, soft vocals and synths that shimmer with the neon glow of the 80s, the classically trained California-based musician creates rich electropop soundscapes.
Hazard’s current quest is to compose a powerful and impressionable tenth studio album — a retro-nostalgic project inspired by 1980’s film soundtracks. Due out in early 2018, there is no doubt that he will dazzle the world with his radiant colors once again.
"Glory Days" is the first leg of that musical journey. Color Theory invites you to remix the stems of his new pop driven single in your DAW of choice.
Here is how to get involved:
- Pull “Glory Days” by Color Theory
- Remix the stems in your DAW of choice
- Publish your update to Color Theory’s project by July 31st
And that’s it!
Color Theory will check out all of the remixes and reward his favorite ones with professional mastering and an online 90-minute mentor session. Winners will also receive a copy of Geist2 from FXpansion. Check out and support Color Theory on Patreon. We can’t wait to hear your remix! Let’s start collaborating!
WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT: Thanks to everyone in the Blend community who participated in Color Theory's remix contest, featuring his single "Glory Days." The contest featured 100 collaborators and 20+ fantastic remixes. Brian Hazard of Color Theory listened to all of the submissions and picked two winners: RMRZ and Dave Oren. Both will receive a 90-minute online mentoring session and Geist2 from FXpansion. Reflecting on RMRZ's remix, Hazard said, "Wow, this one is a lot of fun! As you may or not know, I'm rather partial to the piano. The vocal processing and chiptune touches are wonderful, and contrast nicely with the heavy kick, snare, and bass." He also mentioned Dave Oren's remix is "so polished! The pacing is just perfect and the energy is contagious. What can I say? It makes me smile!" Congrats to RMRZ and Dave Oren for winning the contest, and thanks to Color Theory for collaborating with the Blend community! Stay tuned for new music from Color Theory, as well as Blend's upcoming remix contests.
