WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT

This feature has ended. We'd like to thank everyone who participated -- you are what makes this community great. Join us in congratulating the winner(s)!

SFX Source have been offering cutting-edge samples for all forms of productions for years and have now cooked up a awesome opportunity on Blend. Grab this exclusive, free collection of sounds from their Blend profile and create a new track for an opportunity to win cool prizes.

Here’s how this works:

  1. Pull the project from SFX Source on Blend
  2. Use the samples provided to build an original track. (You can use as many of them as you like, and add other sounds to your composition as well.)
  3. Publish your track by June 30th with tag SFXSOURCE5

Three winners will be picked by SFX Source and will receive 10 sample packs of their choice from the SFX Source Library. Two runner-ups will receive 5 packs of their choice.

Be sure to check out SFX Source on the Blend Market for more awesome sound packs.

SFXsource, in collaboration with Blend, invite you to create a track using up to 20 'Sound Design Elements'. We'd like to bring out your creativity by limiting the sonic material available and encourage the creation of new sounds from old. You can just use the sounds as they are, of course, but where's the fun in that? Edit, process and mangle the provided sounds as you desire to craft an original piece of music in any style and we will award the best production 10 SFXsource packs, as well as offering 2 runners-up 5 packs each. Effects and processing plugins can be used but this project operates a strict 'no outside sounds' policy.

Was there a time target or deadline on this?

@dunkelweizen Thanks! I took the route of using most of the sounds as accents and transitions. Some pitch shifting, eq, and delays did the rest.

This is a small piece I made using the samples. I added the virtual doudouk to bring in more melodic elements, otherwise it' s all from the stems.
