Three time #1 Billboard charting, thirteen year veteran EDM Producer & Laptop DJ. Jeremus delivers a mixture of styles including Progressive, Electro & Dubstep based on his gamut of influences from an early age including Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), BT, Lionel Richie, John Williams, Eric Prydz, Deadmau5, Wolfgang Gartner.
“These artists usually begin a composition with piano, which then takes on a life of it’s own and grows into something fantastic, the melodic and harmonic possibilities always fascinated me, and even more so when I learned how to apply them.” Jeremus’ music is largely about continuing education, being open-minded and staying on the cutting edge.
Jeremus has been so fortunate to have had the opportunity to open (by request) for one of the top DJ’s in the world Brian Transeau a.k.a "BT” and collaborate with Grammy Nominated producer “Bill Hamel.”
“I can work on music, in a small room 25 hours a day, without blinking an eye because I enjoy the challenge, but usually my greatest moments are when I am limited; whether it be by time or tools.”
Jeremus’ progress does not stop with his own productions, he continues to “pay it forward” issuing aspiring producers the same opportunities and challenges he was given and realizes the benefits of teaching, as well as learning.
Jeremus began producing around 2000, and many years later, the tree is just now starting to bear fruit. Thirteen years later Jeremus quit his day job based on a large demand for ghost write original music for other artists. Some think this is cheating, but if it sustains enough income for one to not have to work otherwise, then that doesn’t seem as wrong, morally speaking. “It’s not like I can just (run out) of music to write. Which is why Jeremus puts so much emphasis on education. He believes there are actually things you can not learn in Youtube tutorials, hands-on experiences and a-ha moments that you’ll have when you pay someone your hard earned money for their services, everything remains cyclical in a new market where there is little “actual” human contact.
Jeremus stresses the importance of being challenged and being socially “present” in a world of apps, iPads, Facebook, that one should often put technology down and return to the fundamentals of actually sitting with someone, learning from them all while supporting them in their own endeavor of having the opportunity to teach it. In a world of Youtube over night sensations, he believes it is hard work, diligence, persistence and patience that will sustain a good quality product in the music industry.
There are some exciting projects ahead such as Jeremus' first ever release on Black Hole Recordings titled "I Need You" including remixes by the esteemed Donald Glaude. Besides his release of an original single titled “Boomerang” from Warped Bridge Records, he was also given the opportunity to prepare original remixes for Carmen Electra and teamed up with Bill Hamel once again to remix the timeless vocal tone of Duran, Duran's lead singer John Taylor.
