Recently I had the opportunity to produce a song for a good friend of mine who happens to be a really talented Rapper. #SallieMaeBack has become an anthem for a generation. #Dee1 and I crafted this song together in the studio one day and we both new instantly it was going to be something special. A few months back I started on the beat that eventually became the canvas for Dee to rap on. For anyone who knows me, and for those who dont, I am a huge advocate for Propellerhead Software. Its my go to for creating. I started the idea with the pluck sounds you hear at the beginning of the record. From there, the song built itself. I played it for Dee-1 when I went to the studio and he started rapping the hook and we both FLIPPED OUT! we instantly knew that we had something special. He gave me input on the arrangement and we built a record around the ideal. From this, and almost 10 million views later, we can officially say we have created something timeless.
