**UPDATE** CHECK OUT MY FINAL UPDATED VERSION HERE >> http://blnd.io/1DE8a5v << AND THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!! =)
I'm not really certain best how to categorize this track. I'm not really good at writing within a certain genre. Its electronic music. Theres nts's and pah's and ploofs and chikachikachikachika's (I hope I added ploofs.. I always forget those). I had some pretty frustrating writers block and was goofin' around on Friday afternoon and this is where I'm at with my first draft.
I put this short track together with several melodic synths, one plucky guitar like synth as the focus. A couple other melodic supporting synths, a couple base synths, and a several different drum tracks. Its melodic, has a crunchy analog baseline, 4 floor and a breaks section, and a ratty organ. While I would love to have more of a 'performance' oriented writing style, my house is with a mouse in the piano roll. I bought a little Novation Launchpad which I sadly haven't even really used. Once I had a structure of a song, I found myself taking a lot of time to explore the different audio effects and just really letting myself get carried away. Then I went to giving attention to specific sections, parts and builds. When it comes to the "less is more" rule - I'm a sinner. Things I used most in this piece were various distortions and I tried to make use of some of the EQing tools. Automations. One noticeable thing I played around with was the Damien frequency shifter (that's the radio wave sounding thing in the mid breakdown section playing in the background). I'm not really the fondest of the sub base hanging out at the bottom though.
Though I followed TEKALIGHT's mixing suggestions in his forum post, my weakness is mastering and mixing. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Love my launchpad, it got me my first taste of Ableton, and I was hooked... sorry wandered there. Awesome, kinda digi-lectro-funky-fun-house genre.

@Kurt Kleine, Thank you so much! It was a fun track to write once it took off. I really appreciate the comments.

@Steve @TEKALIGHT, and everybody. Thank you so much for your comments and encouragements! They really mean a lot, I only ever write for myself, so this is really encouraging. Thank you. @Spiderhound, I really appreciate the advice, and I completely agree: EQing is paramount in production, and can easily make or shatter a track. I dont know why but I completely passed over the EQ8 which is more familiar and versatile to me than the EQ3. Thank you so much for the Frequency Chart! That will be invaluable. I hope I can muster up some time to get an update out before the due date =) Just having access to this Blend community is kinda extraordinary.

This sounds really full, I dig it.

I like this track...nice Arrangement. You mentioned that you struggle with mixing and mastering. I think the most powerful tool in mixing is EQ..If you can you should check out the EQ Eight...it's one of my favorite plugins. Not sure if you saw this, but I save it in my favorites and flip over to it from time to time when I want to know where certain sounds fall on the frequency spectrum. This is interactive, so play around with it...hopefully it will help you. (Interactive Frequency Chart) http://tinyurl.com/2u4ncl

Well assembled. it seems that most artists compilation of noises is just that - noise. your is put together in a way that is interesting and can be listened to all the way through and enjoyed. good mixture of highs and lows makes it full. ins and outs are great.

Ok, I will quote you "When it comes to the "less is more" rule - I'm a sinner" :) and I say Yes You Are indeed !! :) But you manage to deal with all those frequencies and your song is well balanced and just flow, so don't be harsh with yourself about mixing, you did a great job here. I really enjoyed the second part after the bridge, very nice work. Thanks.

@Kurt, i'll see if i can rin it through a couple different sets of speakers to try and isolate what yoir hearing. It could be a frequency effect that im using in places that make it difficult to pocknout as intentional maybe? Thank you.

@Andrew, thank you for the suggestion. I had to step away from it for a bit to clear my ears. I'll see what i can do about that.

I think this composition is great, love the transitions

I like it, but there is a lot of buzzing. Not sure if that was intentional or something is turned up too loud

Nice progression throughout. I'd like to be able to hear the beat a bit more at the front as it seems to be overtaken by some of the other elements. Very good though.

well here comes one right after I say that.
