Here it is folks... my first Assignment for the Introduction to Ableton Live course for the Berklee College Of Music. --
This is also my first attempt at building a track with Ableton. I normally work in Pro Tools using a lot of VI's and Maschine, but have recently purchased Ableton Suite & Push... so why not do the course? :) --
I spent about four hours on this if you're interested in that. Would have liked to spend more time on it, but I've just started a Bachelor Of Audio at SAE, so I have plenty of other stuff to get my head around right now :) --
No loop libraries use in this. --
The track here is combining elements of ambient electronica, beats and simple melodic layers. It could be considered some sort of electronic post rock?
Let me know what you think guys and gals!

Heya all... did a little dynamics work and subtle mix changes. Also changed the melodic sound that somes in over the last part. Can hear a lot more detail and seperation now. Give it another spin and let me know what you like / dislike. Cheers!

@The Ariel Thanks for listening, and for the heads up on Teflon Tel Aviv. I've never heard of them, but I don't actually listen to a lot of ambient electro stuff, so they could be big in the genre for all I know. I'll check them out now for sure! Cheers :)

@Javier Thanks for listening :) I kind of knew that sound at the end may not be to everyone's taste... but I deliberately chose a sound I wouldn't normally use, something with a contrasting texture. I saw this project as a way to force myself to experiment, to create in the moment and just stay with the results. It grew on me after a few listens, but maybe if I do another mix or end up mastering it I might duck it a little compared to this version.

This is a gorgeous little downtempo cut! SUPER REMINDS ME of Telefon Tel Aviv! Check em out! I get the same good vibes on this tune as I do listening to them. Great work! I like the stripped down and thoughtful coda! Balanced, and fun to listen to!

This song is very well made. I love the synth starting at 1:35. Not sure about the sound starting at 2:12. I would suggest trying with a different instrument to improve the end of the song. It sounds a bit noisy on headphones.

Very cool track. I love the stereo field, and the subtle strings in the back. You really need to master this just to get full potential out of it ;) Very good job anyways!
