Retired from a stressful career as a management consultant, now able to spend my time on my garden and music. Used Ableton for some years but only as a platform for performance - live sampling and processing. Never used MIDI and never made an arrangement before this course. Looking to learn how to use the other Live capabilities.
45.01 MB(3 files)
173 BPM
6 Audio, 10 Midi tracks
Progress:Rough Draft
Track in 13/4 time. Strong rhythm comes from old audio sample using Ableton Simpler. Brief tune is from Bluesette by Toots Thielemans. Most sounds are quantised, including the deeper 'bloops', but the stone taps and scrapes come from a long audio clip playing in the background. Instrumental sounds are old midi clips played by Apple DLS Music Device.

Excellent and unique composition. The closest published music I can think of that is even slightly similar is "Music from the Body" by Ron Geesin and Roger Waters (yes, of Pink Floyd) from 1970 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_from_The_Body)

Wow, unlike anything I've ever heard before. Very creative use of sounds. This is more like fine art than electronica. I can't wait to hear what you come up with next.

Really cool track again, Jeff. I'd say retirement is being good to us by letting us hear your awesome compositions.

Very cool Jeff, perhaps the most interested project I`ve heard to date in this Coursera course. Congrats.

Ooooh. I like. It's like entering someone else's watery dreamscape. So many imaginative and disparate elements, yet completely cohesive.

Very creative and cool, Jeff. It is, a colourful "garden", so to speak. :)

I like the mixtures of sounds and yes, it does give off a dark, spooky feel - but in a good way!

Very intense! This puts a ton of different images into my mind. You could use this blasting in a haunted house to freak people out.

So very interestingly odd! I can imagine some operatic voices going with this.

What an amazing piece. Too fast to count along for me. :-) Thanks for sharing. Some of the assignments that people posted here make my brain jump and want to try out new things when I hear what's possible in Ableton. This is one of those works. Or in short: 'wow'.
