I went for a laid back, bit wobbly, bit out of tune song. Found the beat, converted it to midi drums as well as melody. Melody conversion was only two notes, but it gave me the idea to make the song not so minor. The chord instrument was constructed from my vocal samples I used in the Assignment 2 and once I played a bit with it, I got the foundation where I built the bass and in the end, melody.
The bass sound is something I'm not satisfied with, but unfortunately I don't have time to tinker it more at the moment. At first there was too much stuff in the low end of audio spectrum and in the center of the audio picture. I phased the bass out of center to make song not so muddy. Also the chord instrument had at first high artifacts going in the lead synths spectrum, distrupting the melody. Multiband eq helped there.

Tinkering with the bass sound. Still maybe bit too fuzzy, but getting there :)

Cheers! It's the sound of bass indeed which I'm not satisfied with. Made a new version with less fuzziness and more cleanliness like you suggested!

Nice. I like the high sounds entry at 0:40 and the shift up. Bass line is OK, just too fuzzy. Try a cleaner bass sound - like Jaco Pastorius!

The bass, the bass. One day - I hope - I can get it better!
