irish folk songsintroduction to ableton liveaudio to midisynthia paynevocalsmax for liveberklee onlinecourseraleonard nimoysingingberklee college of musicassignment 3mooc
Dedicated to Leonard Nimoy, who passed away this morning. This is the third and final assignment in Erin Barra's Intro to Ableton Live MOOC. I began with finding a cool guitar patch that I could manipulate to sound live. Then I thought about Irish Folk Songs and some lyrics called, "Guide Me To My Gold" by Stef Sigfalk.
Guide me to my gold
Stef Sigfalk
I've come to the point of no return
From now it's on ahead
Old lights are out, old bridges burn
Old times are past and dead
The time has come to tackle things
Before they're grey and old
No time to lose spread out my wings
And guide me to my gold
Guide me to my gold, guide me to my gold
No time to lose spread out my wings, guide me to my gold
Spread out my wings and take me there
Guide me to my gold
I'm ready now, I really dare
To break my early mould
And even though my days of then
Lay whithered, still and dead
I'll know they where important when
The final tear is shed
Guide me to my gold, guide me to my gold
No time to lose spread out my wings, guide me to my gold
It too must be, the final tear
When feelings find their place
And what will cause it I don't fear
If love will guide my ways
Old loads away from me will slide
New life is in the air
So spread my wings and open wide
I know I'll make it there
Guide me to my gold, guide me to my gold
No time to lose spread out my wings, guide me to my gold

I really like the difference between the vocals and the guitar. I'm all about finger snaps at the moment, maybe that could be the percussive part you're looking for? :)

Another percussion part or two might be good.

I think it could have a better arrangement, but I ran out of time!
