This song is the soundtrack to vampires and cannibals raving in the jungle. When the song begins picture yourself curiously following sounds that you hear in the distance as you stroll through the jungle. As you get closer you decide to climb a tree so that you can safely see what’s going on without revealing yourself. What you see terrifies you to the core - vampires and cannibals snacking on flesh while raising their blood filled golden goblets. The gates of hell fling open at (1:52) when all the vampires and cannibals lose their minds to the music and pulsate in time to the beat. This is when you notice that your heart is also matching the beat from what feels like a perch within your throat. You realize now that you must remain perfectly still or else you may be added to the menu. Your plan is to wait it out quietly until they’ve had their fill and then slowly sneak away…how long will this demon rave last?
This song began when I was inspired by a handful of samples I downloaded from (www.freesound.org) - I loved the “Oh My Gosh” sample and a few other ambient effects (dutty grains and the guy doing a drum beat with his mouth and some jungle sounds)...that’s where I started and then the song began to take on a life of its own I as i started chasing it down the rabbit hole. I fleshed out the drum parts with some drum loops. I recorded some Midi keys for the middle of the song and then layered the sounds. The song felt like it was missing something at the beginning so I recorded the gentle sounding Malleteer keys and that seemed to round out the 1st part nicely. As I listened back to the track I began to imagine the story that I outlined above, and now I cannot listen to the song without seeing that story play out in my mind. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!
Thank you to the following Freesound.org members who created the following samples that I used:
Sample: at night in the jungle - little river in background by Panamatom
Sample: Soldier_vocoder.wav by words war
Sample: dutty grains.aif by h.quinius
Sample: oh my gosh 001.wav by scotcampbell
Sample: strange_whistling.aif by keinzweiter
Sample: girl laughing.aif by kaiodeleis

Music + a story! Thanks for the details about the song as well. This really hangs together well. I like the intricacies of all of the voices plus the sounds.

@Maurilio Lobato, Wow! I am truly humbled. I'm glad I was able to help and inspire you. Thank you of sharing your kind words...you really made my day. I really liked your 2nd assignment and made comments on your profile. (I just finished a remix of Novak Attack's "Bag of Snakes"...please let me know what you think if you have time).

I don't know if the description is more complicated than the track or the other way around. i think it is a open contest. great track . congrats

Thank you, @laidlaw, Not jake the dog, I used Sample: oh my gosh 001.wav by scotcampbell...I got it from Freesound.org. But I just looked up Jake the dog and can see the resemblance. I actually transposed the original sample down quite a bit for a deeper voice.

love the tale that goes with the tune :)

Nice! Was that Jake the Dog in the intro?

Thank you, @Lenny...wondering if you ever heard of Jon Hopkins. I think you two have similar styles and you would really dig his stuff.
