So here is my contribution to the awesome broken orchestra feature! I loved working with the stems and their unique touch as well as their quirkiness! Lots of cool sounds were emerging from these instruments. Thanks to Found Sound Nation for reanimating thes broken instruments - there were truly some finds in there! I created the whole track solemnly with the provided stems - chopped them, tuned them, reversed and resampled them and made a little dance track for your pleasure. Sousaphone and Basson are known to be great for Bass sounds, Clarinets and trumpets are not always used for Pads but they sound great doing so and the coolest find was a part of a violin soundfile which was turned into a bass drum. To sum it up: I had really fun and fell in love with this awesome trumpet hook line! Hope you like what you here and thanks for lending me your ears! ENJOY!! REMIX CONTEST! Explore the sounds from recorded the sounds of over 800 of broken instruments in an effort to inspire the public to ‘adopt’ these instruments and raise funds to repair and return them to public schools throughout Philadelphia A panel of Broken Instrument experts (comprised of acclaimed musicians, producers and industry folks) will then select 3 winners to receive cash prizes, software from our friends at Ableton and hardware from innovative ‘new kid on the Block’ ROLI.
