With this project i decided to try a different approach than with anything I've done so far. I wanted to do this as a World piece that used sounds from traditional Middle Eastern, Indian, and other regional instruments. At the same time, I arranged it in the form of satirical acts like in a play. The first scene is a an upbeat somewhat celebratory scene, then at :42 the Indian Violin introduces the 2nd scene which signals change. Winds are heard starting at :47 to support the feeling of change. At 1:16 I used the Duduk to bring in the 3rd scene which represents an event that brings sadness, at 1:24, I introduce a strong complex element which signifies the climax of the event, at 1:47 the Duduk is brought back to finish scene 4 and the feeling of melancholy, finally even though the winds of change are still present in scene 5 at 1:56, we hear a positive sense of relief and moving forward through the spanish guitar. I hope you enjoy it!
