What are the licensing terms for content purchased on Blend?
We have a standard license that allows content purchased from Blend to be used in derivate works for commercial and non-commercial purposes while prohibiting resale or redistribution. We also have a separate license for song stems that allows remixing but prohibits any commercial or noncommercial use outside of Blend. The full text of each license is available below.

BLEND STANDARD LICENSE

Sounds, sample packs, tutorials, project files, plugins, presets and effects
(hereinafter referred to as "Products") purchased on Blend.io remain the property
of the seller and/or Blend.io (collectively, "Licensor") and are licensed to you
as the end-user ("Licensee"). By purchasing Products sold under Blend.io,
you automatically become bound to the terms of the License Agreement. All rights
not expressly granted herein are reserved exclusively by Licensor.

The Licensee may use the Products in combination with other sounds to form a new
composition or derivative work in a manner that is clear and distinct from the
isolated Products, for both commercial and non-commercial purposes. The Licensee
may not use the Products in isolation as sound effects or loops. The right to use
the Products is granted only to the Licensee and is NOT transferable. This license
expressly forbids resale, relicensing or distribution of the Products, either as-is
or any modification thereof. You cannot sell, loan, rent, lease, assign, upload to
or download from any server, or transfer all or any of the enclosed Products to
another user, or for use in any competitive product. Derivative works made with
these Products may be included in Blend projects, but the Licensee is expressly
forbidden from including the Products themselves.

All Products purchased from Blend are non-refundable.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a general license for Products on Blend.io. In the event
that the seller has provided their own license (linked from the Product Page),
please refer to that license instead. If in doubt, please contact the seller directly.

BLEND SONG STEMS LICENSE

Song Stems purchased on Blend.io remain the property of the seller and/or Blend.io
(collectively, "Licensor") and are licensed to you as the end-user ("Licensee").
By purchasing Song Stems sold under Blend.io, you automatically become bound to the
terms of the License Agreement. All rights not expressly granted herein are
reserved exclusively by Licensor.

The Licensee may use the Song Stems in combination with other sounds to form a
new composition or derivative work for publishing on Blend.io only, and in a
way which does not allow redistribution of licensed material, specifically by
enabling the Pull option for those projects. The Licensee may not use the Song
Stems in any work or in isolation for commercial or non-commercial
purposes without explicit permission from the Licensor. The right to use the Song
Stems is granted only to the Licensee and is NOT transferable. This license expressly
forbids resale, relicensing or distribution of the Song Stems, either as-is or any
modification thereof. You cannot sell, loan, rent, lease, assign, upload to or download
from any server, or transfer all or any of the enclosed Song Stems to another user,
or for use in any competitive product.

All Song Stems purchased from Blend are non-refundable.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a general license for Song Stems on Blend.io. In the event that
the seller has provided their own license (linked from the Product Page), please refer
to that license instead. If in doubt, please contact the seller directly.

Can I use content from the Blend market in my projects?
All content sold under the Blend standard license can be used to make new music. This derivative work can be published on Blend as a new project, provided that purchased content is not included in the project. So, if you purchase a sample pack on Blend, you can use those samples in a new Blend project, but make sure that the sample pack folder is not in the project directory before publishing the project on Blend.

If a seller provides their own license, please refer to the terms of that license instead. See More Topics
How can I get more sales on Blend?

There are no hard and fast rules to success in the Blend Market, but here are some things you can do to increase your chances:

  • Use relevant tags. Tags are one of the primary ways users can find projects in the Blend Market. Give your project tags that describe the type of content, the intended genres and ways the content can be used, such as: "sample pack", dubstep, bass, "dj tool", "kit"
  • Share your project on social media. After you publish your project, you can click the Facebook, Twitter and Google+ buttons to share it. The first step to getting sales is letting people know you have something to sell, so get the word out there!
  • Embed your project on your website or blog. Leverage your existing traffic and convert your fans into customers with our simple embeddable player. Just click the share button on the project to copy the embed code and paste it into the HTML of your website, or use the Blend Wordpress plugin to easily add project widgets to your blog posts.
  • If you have an email list, message your subscribers. You can easily link to your Blend project from an email newsletter, and your subscribers will be able to visit Blend and make a purchase in a matter of minutes. You can also send a private message to people that have pulled your projects in the past — learn how on our blog.
  • Consider offering something for free to attract more customers. You can publish a demo or mini-pack of your product as a public project on Blend and link to the product in the description. If people like the free sample, they are more likely to purchase the full product. As you build your credibility on Blend and gain more fans, your chances of turnings those fans into customers will increase.
