Taylor Elsasser committed his life to music at the very young age of 12. Starting out as a budding bass player trying to sound like Eddie Van halen in the humble town of Sparta, New Jersey, he quickly became someone musicians of all ages were trying to know. He met his business partner (and long time friend) Tim head later when he moved to California at the age of 15 and started a progressive death metal band, their dynamic duo quickly generated buzz. Tim and Taylor were then signed to Jonny Gunn productions after he saw them at a bar he got them a gig at, as a favor from a friend. Gunn productions was closely tied to Eddie Money, Tony tony tony, Los lobos, etc, so he signed them as studio artists eventually taking them to NAMM 2008 as artists for DnR Guitars based in Fremont. After this whole experience, Tim and Taylor realized recording was something they would love to do so they opened their own studio called "Quantum Studios" funded by being hard working associates at In n Out burger. They both attended Los Medanos College shortly after, but found the curriculum severely lacking and out of date. Craving something more, they decided to take the risk of going to pyramid to further their knowledge on mixing and mastering, but Taylor also wanted synthesis and to learn how to make banging dubstep. After hearing the track "Gizmo" by "Datsik", Taylor began listening to Dubstep and more EDM with the intention of fusing these styles with metal. Taylor's experience at pyramind opened an entire world of synthesis that he quickly dived in to. Half way through his core experience he took a few months off, to study "Sound Healing" music and audit workshops and classes that touched on this subject. He learned some very balanced practices in creating SoundScapes and painting elaborate pictures with the intention of putting the mind at ease, while stimulating the brain with binaural and isochronic beats. So during this time of study, the synthesis with every different style and genre took him deep into the world of native instruments. His collaborator and good friend Luke Estes (SugarbeatsMusic) was there with him to also study synthesis and expand his sound pallette. Taylor Designed and helped design many of the sounds heard on Sugarbeat's New release "Cherry Bomb" and is currently collaborating with Luke for there next full length ( among many current collaborations in the works). Taylor is currently working on an Ep for his artist Alias "StarLotus" fusing glitch hop with dubstep in aggressive mash-up of gritty bangers and granular robot sounds. Taylor is preparing many online tutorials for reaktor players and ensembles which also landed him the gig of "Synthesis Teacher" at pyramind taking over for Brian Trifon (Trifonic). He is still attending Pyramind to gather more experience in Post Production for games and films, to create another stream in his skill set. Taylor may have been through a lot already following his dreams within music, but this is only the start of a very promising career as a Musician, Sound Designer, and Entrepreneur three things that Pyramind specializes in.
