Progress:Rough Draft
This is Project Assignment 1, draft. I tried to stay within Ableton Suite for MIDI instruments. There's plenty of space for collaboration if you want to fill in parts. Vocals anyone? I like most forms of techno and house. So this fits somewhere in the dark zone. I've had Ableton for a while but found the learning curve steep until I found this course. All feedback welcome.

I really like how chill it is and the flow of it! Very nice!

I make no excuses for the length of the track as it is designed for dancing and DJs. Okay, I'll admit I could easily trim a minute. LOL. You may be right in that the main riff (Operator) could disappear a little more. I did this under deadline. There's only so much that can be done in a few days. And, so many of our classmates brought out keen observations and great ideas. I plan to revisit the track and incorporate many of these ideas. Not now. Too much other stuff to do under deadline. I really appreciate your feedback. I find it thoughtful and useful. And, thank you for the compliments, Hutch.

Techno and House is not my thing but this has a great vibe and energy. It's well structured and arranged with lots of sounds. You have a good ear and know how to put a track together. My main critique would be as most house: repetitive and long. The main riff dominates too much I say take it out once in a while to rest the ears . (like you do about 4.40.) . Overall excellent project though.

Jack, good to see you are getting around. I like your project. Maybe ad one instrument that is higher tones to fill in that space. Mix up the from beat. OK, there is my collaboration. NicNice work so far.

I like this. I also agree with the suggestions made. For vocals I would just say something meaningful like "Lick... ...the Lollypop" and make it sound like on the phone. Hey, if Benassi can do it, so can you ;)

Great music Jack. Nice bass line with sound similar to bell (1:52).

I love how this is consistently building, moving, and then easing up!

This is great. I love the tension you build around 4:00! also, I agree with DJ davepz that the swung drum part in the last section, especially when you bring it down to just drums, bass and pad at 4:40

Thanks DJ Davepz. I've been getting a lot of good feedback and I plan to revisit the draft to make most of these changes.

Col track bud, i agree with Spiderhound, i prefer the swing drums later in the track. Some sharp claps and some layered swooshes and its a win. Cool vibe to it, bass and hi's.
