The most common shared rule that you’ll see amongst poker variants is the ranking of hands. Every high-hand game a game where you try to make the best possible hand uses this ranking system, except for Short Deck, and it will be the one you’re most familiar with if you’ve come across poker before. In this system, the Royal Flush is the strongest possible hand, and a high card is the weakest possible hand. For reference, here is a link to our full poker hands ranking list. Of course, in "lowball" games like razz or deuce-to-seven triple draw, the hand rankings are turned upside down and the 'worst' hand according to traditional hand rankings is the winning one. Each player still in the round reveals their hands simultaneously. Each player makes the best possible 5-card hand available from his or her pocket cards and the community cards. Because Texas Hold-Em uses community cards, ties are more common than with other variants, and special rules designate how to break ties based on the specific cards contained in each player's hand. Even so, draws are still possible, and the pot is shared if this is the case. Otherwise, the player with the best 5-card hand wins the pot.
