Retired from a stressful career as a management consultant, now able to spend my time on my garden and music. Used Ableton for some years but only as a platform for performance - live sampling and processing. Never used MIDI and never made an arrangement before this course. Looking to learn how to use the other Live capabilities.
240.2 MB(44 files)
173 BPM
6 Audio, 9 Midi tracks
Progress:Rough Draft
Track in 13/4 time. Strong rhythm comes from old audio sample using Ableton Simpler. Brief tune is from Bluesette by Toots Thielemans. Most sounds are quantised, including the deeper 'bloops', but the stone taps and scrapes come from a long audio clip playing in the background. Instrumental sounds are old midi clips played by Apple DLS Music Device.

@Kallisti I've put a new version here: Assignment 2 Project V2 I've eq'd the whole track so this sound is not as load, comparatively.

A very different and unique piece - well done for being so original. if you hadn't used the transpose on the voice, you'd have had to use a lot of helium balloons!

This is a FUN answer to our assignment. What an intriguing piece! One suggestion: lower the levels between 17sec and 22 sec, as it can be "alarming" through headphones. Well done!

Toby: I cheated with the voice: split into 7 separate clips and used transpose in the clip settings. Have a look at my website and soundcloud (in my profile). I'll check out yours too. @Toby

This is deep. It all makes sense in the end. It's like a M.Night Shyamalan film... Great job!

How did you speed up the voices? I will try to explore that area probably under warping. But to do it with a linear transition will probably be easier said than done. Jeff can we find other work from you? I am retired From the electronics field and being retired just picking up from musical skills learned in my youth. If you wish check out soundcloud/yourdaytosmile for some of my attempts at creating music on my computer. I have a lot to learn. I am just out to have fun and keep the gears from rusting. This was interesting and fun but is this out of the norm from your repertoire? More please.
